It is a Christian minority Institution. The college is located 3km away from Karaikudi bus stand. It is situated near The Leader's School on the Karaikudi - Trichy By Pass Road. It is run by St. Joseph Educational Trust which was founded in the year 2011.

St. Joseph College of Education, Sivagangai offers 2 Year Full Time Bachelors Degree [Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)].
The collge has been started with the primary aim of imparting quality training to teachers, who are the architects of the budding generation.
A formal ceremony will be held by our college in 2023.
The National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) sets up norms and standards for teacher's education right from pre-school teacher education to post graduate level teacher education.
